East End Crossing: Blasting schedules & traffic alerts for week of Oct. 13
Kentucky: Olde Creek Way closure Oct. 6-20, 2014: Olde Creek Way, closed since October 6, 2014 will reopen on or before the evening of October 20, 2014. Residents will have to access the Bridgepointe subdivision through the front entrance off U.S. 42. Olde Creek Way will continue to be accessed by school buses during this time, but closed to residential traffic.
Kentucky: Lane restrictions on River Road October 13-17, 2014: There will be lane restrictions in Kentucky on River Road in the vicinity of Wolf Pen Branch Road and Timber Ridge Drive October 13-17, 2014 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day. Flaggers will be present during this time to assist in guiding traffic. Motorists are asked to use caution and drive slowly when driving in the area during this time.
Kentucky: Blasting schedule for week of October 13, 2014: Blasting to prepare for the new tunnel in the east end of Louisville is scheduled to occur during the week of October 13, 2014.
Surface blasting: Surface blasting, which began in June 2013, occurs in the east end of Louisville near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841. Prior to each blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic stops during the blasts will occur on KY 841 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42, and on U.S. 42 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and Bridgepointe Boulevard.
The dates and approximate times for surface blasting (within 15 minutes) will be:
Monday, October 13, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 14, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 15, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 16, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Friday, October 17, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 18, at about 9:30 a.m. and again at about 11:30 a.m.
Surface blasting is also scheduled to occur near the intersection of Springdale Road and Wolf Pen Branch Road. The surface blasting at this location began in April 2014. Prior to each blast, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Traffic will be stopped on Springdale Road at the Green Spring Drive intersection, and on Wolf Pen Branch Road from Wolfpen Woods Drive to Green Spring Drive.
The dates and approximate times for surface blasting (within 15 minutes) will be:
Monday, October 13, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday October 14, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 15, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 16, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Friday, October 17, at about 9:30 a.m., at about 11:30 a.m. and again at about 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 18, at about 9:30 a.m. and again at about 11:30 a.m.
Tunnel blasting: This week’s underground tunnel blasting has been cancelled. No further tunnel blasting will occur for approximately two to four weeks. During this period, crews will be installing additional structural supports for the tunnel. Prior to resuming tunnel blasting, a schedule will be posted on the project website at www.kyinbridges.com.
NOTE: A message will be posted on the project website at www.kyinbridges.com Thursday of each week regarding the anticipated blasting schedule for the following week. Pre-blast surveys are ongoing; no blasting will occur within 500 feet of any residence prior to the completion of a pre-blast survey for that residence.
Indiana: Lane closures near SR 265 and SR 62 interchange rescheduled to occur October 13, 2014: The following lane closures have been rescheduled to occur on October 13, 2014 from 7 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
The eastbound SR 265 to eastbound SR 62 loop ramp will be closed. Traffic will need to continue onto Port Road and make a right at the traffic light in order to access the SR 62 eastbound ramp from eastbound 265.
The westbound SR 62 to Port Road loop ramp will be closed. Traffic will need to make a left turn across eastbound SR 62 to access Port Road.
Indiana: Lane restrictions on SR 62 October 13-17, 2014: There will be lane restrictions on SR 62 in Indiana in the vicinity of the SR 265 and SR 62 interchange October 13-17, 2014 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day. The lane restrictions will be in place for about a half mile in each direction of the interchange. Motorists are asked to use caution and drive slowly when driving in the area during this time.
Indiana: Lane restrictions on Upper River Road October 13-17, 2014: There will be lane restrictions in Indiana on Upper River Road in the vicinity of the East End Crossing construction site October 13-17, 2014 from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day. Flaggers will be present during this time to assist in guiding traffic. Motorists are asked to use caution and drive slowly when driving in the area during this time.
Indiana: Blasting schedule for week of October 13, 2014: Blasting to prepare for the East End Crossing is scheduled to occur in Indiana during the week of October 13, 2014. Blasting will occur between Port Road and Upper River Road. These blasts do NOT require traffic stops.
The dates and approximate times (within 15 minutes) will be:
Monday, October 13: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
Tuesday, October 14: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
Wednesday, October 15: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
Thursday, October 16: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
Friday, October 17: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
Saturday, October 18: Several blasts in the morning (after 9 a.m.) and two blasts in the afternoon (before 7 p.m.)
